In 2004-2006 Coral Reef Care started her first projects in Dahab (Egypt-Sinaï) . Various signboards were installed at diving-, snorkel- and swimming sites. These signs indicate an ’easy entry’ and the do’s and don’ts of diving. Tourists often walk over the reef flat (fringing reef) in shallow areas to reach the deeper waters. At some sites this distance can be up to 70 meters. By pointing out the easy entry’s, kilometers of reef could be saved.
Unfortunately, our local partner had to leave in 2006 and we did not find a good successor.
